Legal Basis for Data Processing

Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR - For pre-contractual measures and contract fulfillment, e.g.:  
- App provisioning and functionality  
- Use of Apple services when iCloud is enabled

- Sending support logs for error reporting

- Technical security and website stability

Note for Switzerland: For Swiss users, data processing follows the principles of the revised Federal Data Protection Act (revDSG), particularly processing in good faith, proportionality, and purpose limitation.

Data Processing:

Website

Hosted by Infomaniak Network AG (Switzerland):
- Processed data: IP addresses (pseudonymized after 7 days), access times, browser type, referrer URL
- Retention: Maximum 12 months
- Purpose: Technical operation, security (DDoS protection)
- No sharing with third parties except when legally required
- Privacy information: https://www.infomaniak.com/en/legal/privacy-policy

Contact Forms / Email
‍- Collected data: Name, email address, message
- Retention: Max. 30 days after last contact (typically deleted immediately after processing)

Apple Services

All Apple services are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

iCloud
- App data (e.g., WoHiT workouts, Cali todos) is only synced when iCloud is enabled
- End-to-end encryption (indie-Software has no access, only users)
- Deletion: Data remains in iCloud after app deletion and must be manually removed via iCloud settings
- Data is exclusively subject to Apple's privacy terms.

Text-to-Speech
‍- Uses Apple's AVSpeechSynthesizer (iOS-native text-to-speech)
- Processing occurs locally on device
- Can be disabled in app settings

EventKit
‍- Calendar data is read, created and edited in your iOS calendars
- Data management is handled exclusively by iOS/Apple
- Contact access (optional) is used only for birthday display - no storage or further processing
- Opt-out: Manage app permissions in iOS settings

Crash Reports
- Collected data: App version, device type, iOS version, stack trace (error source)
- All data is anonymized (no personal identification)
- Retention: 90 days
- Opt-out: Can be disabled in iOS settings (location may vary by iOS version)

App Usage Statistics (via App Store Connect)
‍- Collected data: Installation numbers, active devices (aggregated), session duration (anonymized)
- All data is anonymized
- Retention: 2 years
- Opt-out: Can be disabled in iOS settings

Apps

Support Logs
‍- Technical diagnostics including possible copies of user-created data for troubleshooting
- Voluntary, active submission by user via email
- Deletion after max. 30 days

App-Specific Processing

Cali
- Calendar: Read/write/sync via Apple EventKit
- Todos: Read/write/sync via Apple iCloud

WoHiT
- Workouts: Read/write/sync via Apple iCloud
- Voice guidance: Processed by Apple Text-to-Speech

Lottie Tester
- No data processing or storage
